MEDICARE FOR ALL
FREE COLLEGE
For years, the tuition costs of college has gone up and up, and we currently have a student loan crisis. Wouldn't it be nice if college was accessible to everyone? Well, just like Medicare for All, every other modern nation is showing it is, indeed possible. Every other modern nation has free college. We're the richest nation in the world. It's not hard to figure out.
NET NEUTRALITY
Net Neutrality is simple: "Internet Service Providers can not block, throttle, sensor, or otherwise discriminate against lawful content on the internet." This is literally all a Net Neutrality bill has to say. If I ever ran for Congress, this would be the first bill I push out.
THE CONSTITUTION
The Constitution is the highest law of the land. This is not a political opinion. It's what this nation was founded on. Yet, our government has, time and time again, violated this law and got away with it. It's time we held them responsible.
NEW NEW DEAL
Our current system is broken. We have record income inequality while corporations have record profits, yet the working class can not secure permanent tax cuts and wages they can survive on. This is unacceptable. It's time for a New New Deal.
EDUCATION OVERHAUL
I believe our education system needs to receive a complete overhaul. Students have to go to school for 7 hours a day, 5 days a week, 180 days a year, for 13 years. That's 16,380 hours. Required by law. All of it spent on academics, which adults have a large tendency to forget as they grow older because that stuff was useless. If it's not necessary for 80% of the students or more, don't make it required.
DRUG LEGALIZATION
It is completely unacceptable that you can go to prison for 5 years or more just for possessing or smoking a plant. America is increasingly legalizing Cannabis for medical and recreational usage, and it's time we did so on a national level.
PUBLIC FINANCE
It's time we close the root of all the corruption in politics: Money. Of course money is needed to campaign. However, the problem with how it's used is the fact that private corporations will donate to candidates, and use the money to bribe them into passing laws in their favor. Instead of having this, our candidates should be funded by our tax dollars. In this system, we're the ones paying them; they have to listen to us.
MINIMUM WAGE INCREASE
The Minimum Wage was created to ensure anyone can live a respectable standard of living when working a full-time job. Unfortunately, our federal minimum wage has not lived up to that standard. It's time we brought it up. Corporations already have record profits, they can afford to hand over some of it to their workers.
TECHNOLOGY IN THE CLASSROOM
I believe technology has a place in the classroom. Tablets can be used to write down and organize notes, making them available everywhere. Virtual and Augmented Reality can be used for hands-on training on adult skills. Social Media can be used to keep students up-to-date on school events. Textbooks are outdated. Practically everything you can get out of them are already available online.
ENDING THE WARS
We are currently in 2 full-scale wars, 7 military interventions, and have 800 military bases in more than 70 countries. This is unnecessary. Most of the interventions haven't even been approved by Congress, despite our constitution setting this as a requirement. It's expensive, unnecessary, and the funds used on this could be used to fund Medicare for All, Free College, a New New Deal, public internet service, fixing our infrastructure, etc. It's time we ended this.
BUDGET OVERHAUL
We can afford everything liberals want. It's just a matter of managing our money correctly. We need a complete overhaul of our budget that places America first.
